Hi reel steel, quick question. You mentioned the inside of the helmet being less heavily textured than the outside. How was this a achieved? Were there two paint applications? Thanks, Andy

Yes...the exterior on M40-42 helmets the paint had Aluminum Oxide powder mixed in the paint for texture & non-glare. The inside was just sprayed without the A. Oxide.

Possibly (as been discussed) the entire helmet was sprayed inside & out with non textured paint, then the exterior got a top coat of textured paint
