M42 EF Heer
Here's one I picked up a week ago at a local fair.
It's an EF 66 with batchnr 3115. (It's the second one with that batchnr that I've seen , the other is a SD SS).
The chinstrap is mended and I think looking at the straight break and the spotty liner that this could be a corpse cut helmet.

Yes, that could be a blood damage, due of blood makes the leather hard and crack.

I agree it looks a very nice helmet and that liner does look blood damaged, heres a pic of my blood ravaged ss liner with corpse cut strap, rgds Dave
Thanks for the comparison shot Dave , it's my idea that soldiers cut the straps near the ear because the strap would be a half an inch away from the skin so the soldier would not cut into the skin of the dead or wounded soldier.
