Here is his brother , same maker CKL.
M42 ckl 64 heer
Decal should be the same , hard to say as it is scratched but it looks good from here.

Thanks Schwerpunkt, I was not aware that the manufacturer was ckl, but now I look at the photos I can see at least the first letter c. I assume this dates it from 1943 onwards?

Here are some photos of my M42 Heer helmet that i obtained about a month ago. I've been thinking of getting one for several years and i'm pleased i finally did. The only problem is now i've started i want to get more WW2 items!
Glad you feel that way....now the bug is in you which you were destined and chosen to collect and uphold history. Run with it

You got a good helmet here. All matching condition inside & out. It's what you want to look for in your quest for more helmets

Nice Lid.
You have now been infected....budget your money carefully...It's amazing how you will begin to cut back on other things (my cell phone is 5 years old, I drive a 10 year old car, haven't bought a new pair of shoes in a long time, put all my pocket change in a jar....etc., etc.) just to scratch out a few extra $$ here and there

This decal wasn't scratched to deter snipers. It is just honest wear.
Yes, there was an order in 1940 (? or around) to remove the national shield as it was too visible. But not the Adler decal.
