Sad thing, I was so excited about buying it, I coundn't even pay for it. It was on ebay anyway. The only way of telling was the shape of he decal, you cound see the color very little. It was named Wolk on the skirt. I had it for $100. It was put on again and sould for $200.

ww2 German Sauerland helmet. Shell. Named to soldier Wolk. Size 66 | eBay here it was. It ended so I'm not sure if you could see it.
its a relic condition,no sign of any colour at all! and why would a sauerland helmet be in latvia?
Latvia, theres the first red flag...
I have doubts on this one, as i do with all Sauerland helmets. This one in particular looks too artificial. I wouldn't lay down $100 for it unless I was there when they dug it out of the ground.
The guy told me that he was a relic hunter. Giving up on E-bay anyway..... Probably a fake decal. Still a good helmet though ww2 German helmet. M-42. Size 66. Combat shell. "Kurland pocket". | eBay also has a ss helmet but it's crushed
I added the pics to your post. A word to the wise. Adding links without pics is not good: links die and pics get removed leaving a useless thread for future reference.
Cheers, Ade.

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
why do you say that?
