Hi All,
The dealer sent me a few more close ups of the Helmet ... he has assured me that the mark on the swastika is a scuff and has not been touched up with paint.
Hope you think the pictures are better.
And is it worthy a place in my display cabinet?
Thanks All
Looks nicer with these new photos. And correctly proportional.
I think the swaz on the decal is fine as well but will defer to David or others if I'm missing something.

Hi All,
I’ve zoomed in on the decal and not really happy with what I see.... The Dealer is still stating nothing has been touched up, but I have my doubts!!
Even the lower part of the swastika looks a differshade of white.
Just my two cents, maybe the swastika looks thicker in some areas because of the pre existing whitewash that was applied to it and then smeared because the soldier started wiping the whitewash away at some point..??
You maybe right Giants ..... but if you look at the scratch on the right hand side arm it’s quite deep in the original paintwork, but the white has been re-applied.Also the smudged grey paint is a different colour to original finish.
My gut feeling is to leave it alone.
Ahh I didn’t see that scratch good look stevade. I still remain hopeful for it though because if someone was going to touch it up you think they would make all of the swastika visible maybe that different color of blue paint that the scratch goes through saved the swastika underneath it. Is it possible also that it was re-issued???? I personally like the helmet very interesting to say the least.
I think it is a splotch of bluish paint splatter combined with the white wash that is causing this.

I tend to have the same reservations as Stavade. The blue paint doesn’t appear anywhere else on the lid (that I can see in the photo’s at least) and to my eyes appears to sit over the decal rather than underneath. Where the blue paint is I would expect to see a colour consistent with the other worn areas or bare metal covered in very old rust. Without much higher resolution images it’s really hard to make a firm judgment on this one.
