This is a possible purchase, from which i can upgrade to a better helmet. The two thing i dont like is the color of the split pins and the salty shape f the shell on the outside. For the chinstrap I dont know.
So what do you guys think?

Its a put-together with new pins I would say. The finish looks moisture pitted from the air ( I don't think it is a dug helmet ) and the liner looks OK. The chinstrap short end looks OK ( but aluminium M35 style ) but the long end is repro and sadly, someone has put a dodgy acceptance stamp on it.

Depends on how much they are after - under $300 would be all I would pay.
Its got an original finish and an original liner ....... just not THE original.

We will see then if the price is right i might give it a shot.
Don't disagree with Dan but still a nice representive M-42 helmet after 43 ND who is the maker? I missed that looks like could be ET or CKL stamp by the ser no in back maker can be on side also. Original helmet though timothy
Dan has nailed it with his summary, definitely a put together lid.
I can just make out the ckl stamping in the shell.
Brad.
Hi, it does appear to be a put together helmet, but at least all the parts (chinstrap long end not included) are original and it has not been re-painted or had fake decals slapped on it. Leon.
