Looks straight down the middle par for me Paul, is it a new one of yours or a purchase consideration?
It's one i already have Doug i bought it because it was a classic ET , unfortunately the only real damage is to the decal !!

i like this m42 it has wear, but its also still in great condition. i would very happy with this helmet in my collection.

Yep, definitely wouldnt worry about that damage too much. Does not take away from it at all.
