No not rare! ,, size 68cm was mass produced in the factories. In case you don't know? .. that M42 was produced by EF / Fulda.

The 68 was a luftwaffe, and the other is a re-issue M35, just look at the size!! Usually these tiny ones are in mint condition, having not been issued, but this one is combat worn.

No doubt original large size m42 I have one 68 in a Quist beaded LS agree they are around. timothy
