M42 ventless helmet (M45)

Hello
Here is my newest pick-up!
One of the last helmets that were produced into WW2
It is in size 66 produced by EF with the Lot 7131
It´s original paint is a Kind of dark green like lots of late M42 helmets
The only diffrence between the sometimes called "M45" and a normal M42 is that the vents are missing; Maybe a process-step has beed cancelled. Does anyone know more About that?
It was overpainted postwar and i washed it away

What colour was the postwar overpaint?

Do a quick search (M44 or M45) and you will find a number of threads

A mistake in the production process? A cost saving measure?

Never held one nor really studied so will leave it up to others
