Mating original helmet with liner?

I agree an original liner would look better. It's hard to match a repro liner with an aged helmet.

No doubt. That would be hard to get right.

I "aged" this repro-liner with Wood Finish so it would blend in better with the old shell...but Helmetone is correct, it's hard to get a good match.

Not so hard to get, but a correct looking one to match the condition of the helmet might take a bit longer, also they are not getting any cheaper

I think the owner will be happy just to have a complete helmet.
