A very nice pick up Cous
I would also be interested in having a look at the database Michael!!!
Semper Fi
Phil
Frank's Lot # Database is over at GHW. As with any lot #database, they are just a tool and not a "final" answer when trying to determine the correct configuration of a particular helmet.
In this case, it was nice to find a match. Not unexpected however given this was a ND M42.

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Congratulations on your first M42! My first Stahlhelm was a Luftwaffe M42 (I was 10 years old) and it's still my favorite model...
Gorgeous, Honest Lid...Get them while you still can, friends...
cheers, Glenn
Couldn't have done it without Map. This whole helmet buying process started when I sent 3 scrappy pics to him off of craigslist asking for initial impressions. He gave me a trial by fire education and stated that he didn't mind gambling with my money and I should go for it. What a pal!!.. Thanks again, Map!
Yeah...that's pretty much what I said! Can't deny it LoL.
But...in the process you learned quite a bit . What to look for? What questions to ask, and what additional pictures to get.
So by the end of the process and additional information received.....it wasn't really a gamble at all Lol. But It was a great helmet at a FANTASTIC price. AND you now even have the direct vet provenance.
As said. No thanks needed. Was my pleasure .... and it wasn't my $ anyway

Yes it was a gamble but so is everything in life. Besides, I had loaded dice in this crap shoot and I love those odds!
After the 2nd set of pictures it was a "sure thing"...oh that's right. By that time you bought it already..lol
Still even before that it was a solid bet
BTW I got a nice SS decal you can now slap on this baby...lol
