Continuing the run of Luftwaffe M35s we are currently enjoying, I just thought I’d add my own to the mix...
A nice big one, SE68 (Saechsische Emaillier u. Stanzwerke, Lauter), lot number 4733, though I can’t be sure of the lining band stamps, which appear to be ‘68 HA’ over ‘61’. Plus, a nice, crisp LBA on the chinstrap.
I welcome any comments and information you can provide.
Not as tidy as some we have seen lately, but I like it.
I hope you do too!
Hello Bob
Another "well balanced" helmet. All components match in condition & wear. Nice big tub & other than the "checkering"...the decals are strong. (perfect size too)
D.
As said, another super DD M35, those Luftwaffe Adlers really could be a pig to apply! Leon.
Quite right, Leon!
I love the wonky lower leg of the hackenkreuz...
On another note, it occurs to me that the liner appears quite dry in the photographs (although it is certainly very supple to the touch). Would you recommend a particular treatment?
I tend to use ‘Elephant Leather Preserver’ (European Museum Formula), on leather equipment, though have never yet used it on a liner.
Many thanks to you all for your very kind comments.
Bob
