It's a nice helmet but as my friend Doug correctly stated a few posts earlier the chinstrap is a fake. The Germans didn't make buckles like that and how the maker stamp is punched into the leather is also a red flag.

Take the strap off the visor. It can get knifed through over time or broken by the stress. Plus, it may still leach onto the visor and discolor it. If you carefully display it with no stress on the liner - allowing the strap to hang loose and free that might be a better choice. The photo shows my M16 with repro chin strap resting on a wooden display with padded dowel. The display does not touch the liner which is carefully protected from damage. NH
