Nice restoration. Are the parts real? Or reproduction?

the parts are real but the liner is a firepolice helmetliner not wehrmacht or ss but nearly the same and for the first time ok so far only have to change the chinstrap soon then it looks not so good

Adding the liner for the sake of it having a liner is a mistake in my opinion. It just doesn't look right. Some things are best left as they were found.

Nice job on the shell. i agree that the liner should not go on it since it doesn't match. the fire/police chinstrap is fat and detracts from the look. The paint came through nicely and it appears to have been a DD helmet most likely a Police Combat lid since this is an M40.

Any liner you put in there will look out of place. I don't understand the pleasure in upgrading such a helmet but maybe that's just me. I'd use my funds to buy a helmet with liner , nice "No decal" ones that were found above ground are not that expensive ... yet.
