Thankyou for input on helmet.
I brought it off the waf forum.
I,ve brought a couple of items off the previous owner before with no problems.
I was 99% sure the helmet was good I just wanted to get a few comments off you fine folk on the forum.

Nice helmet , even a 1940 dated liner band is possible on an M42.

Great M42,no problems here.As has already been said,liner band/chinstrap dates can be found in a varity of configurations on all helmets(replacement parts/old stock used at point of construction etc).The old in hand study of these ones will tell you 99% of the time as to whether they are original configurations or put together pieces!
