My Second Helmet

Hello guys
I thought I would show my second helmet. Is this a M1940? Also does anyone know what kind of chin strap it needs?

Hiya,

Decent lid. Its an M42 model, which is Made by ckl and is a size 64. Looks like a Luftwaffe issue as well. Liner looks dry and worn but defiantly original. As for the chinstrap you have the remains of the original on there so I would leave it be. If you do want to change a nice mid to late war version would look good on it, though they can be pricey.

A great looking combat used luftwaffe M42.As the chaps have already said,leave the chinstrap as it is,it looks fantastic and is how it should be!! Thanks for shareing, Leon.

Nice Luftwaffe M42 Jay

As per your original question as to it being an M40 only the M42 has the unfinished rough flared out Rim I do believe this was done as a cost cutting measure the M-35 and M-40's rims are rolled in here is a couple of photo of my old M4O Luftwaffe for comparison.
