This is on a M42 ND that I am thinking of buying. Did soldiers put their names on the liner. And can anyone help me decipher the name..."Keagle Ugser"???

I have several helmets with names written on the liner. This could be a good name. I think it's hard to tell sometimes if the writing is new or old. Do you have pic of the entire helmet?
Here you go....
It's an EF66..no size on liner.
I'd say everything looks good on it. Dealer selling it?
yep
It's a good helmet but I can't make out that chicken scratch. It doesn't appear to be the German writing style of the time and the name is most definitely not German, at least in my opinion. It could be the name of the vet who picked it up. I have seen this on occasion.
I don't think it is the vet. It was picked up by a Capt. Harris of the of the 69th Infantry Division near Torgau
The helmet comes with some hand written notes from the person who acquired it from the vet. I guess he sat down with the vet and took some history. Who knows?

Did the vet have any kids who liked to play with it?
That is possible...but it seems so subtle for a kid to have done. A kid would have made a much bolder statement.
