Need opinions on this m40 heer helmet shell

Looking to pick this up in trade and need your thoughts on the decal, I know the pictures are not the best but they are all I have at the moment

I wouldn't trade to much for this one. Definitely just a shell, and looks to have been cleaned or sanded from some kind of over paint?? Also, can't get much off of the decal from those pics.

Nathen it did have a post war over paint on it, I am giving like $150 in trade value for it if I get it, it's a darker green than what the pics shows

If your comfortable with the price, and what your getting, go for it. I have no idea what a shell in that condition goes for, or I'd give you better advice!

That's about $100 Aussie so I'd say the going rate. But it is what it is ...... and the stripping always takes its toll on an original finish and decal though no matter how its done.
As Nathan said, if you are happy, fine, but for a display piece, maybe throw a hundred more out there for a shell that hasn't had a post war fiddle done to it.

I would just leave it , the $$ value really doesn't matter. It's messed up , do you want a messed up shell ?
