Re: Need some opinions on my named Heer Helmet...
A very nice Heer helmet my friend!
A good helmet indeed IMO! Nice decal to according to a few of mine.
It's a m40 right or?
A nice helmet I would have in my collection.
The liner doesn't seem like it have been replaced to my eyes.

Re: Need some opinions on my named Heer Helmet...
Thanks Normandie! I think this is an M42, no? Do you know whether or not the personalization (the soldier's name clearly written on the liner) generally increase the value?

Re: Need some opinions on my named Heer Helmet...
It is without a doubt an M42, as it has the tell tale stamped vent holes and flared out rim.
Something about the liner seems fishy to me... Yes, I would say that the name does add a little bit to the value, but not much. It's extremely common for helmets to be named.

Hi Joe. Thanks for your reply. Would you be more specific regarding what is fishy about the liner? Thanks!

Re: Need some opinions on my named Heer Helmet...
Sorry to be so vague!
I don't know the proper terms, but It doesn't look like your liner is the proper fit...
Compare to mine:

Re: Need some opinions on my named Heer Helmet...
I'm wondering why the heads of the liner split pins are so exposed compared to normal ones????
And I cant see the size stamp on a tongue ......

Re: Need some opinions on my named Heer Helmet...
As stated, the name doesn't add up so much more value, though it's very cool to have!
To me the liner doesn't seem like it's been replaced, just warn.. but I'm not 100% sure.

Re: Need some opinions on my named Heer Helmet...
The entire helmet is fine to my eyes. Looks like a nice M42 Heer helmet. Dan is right though its strange how much the liner leather pins stick out so much.
Out of interest does the liner feel thick or thin?

Re: Need some opinions on my named Heer Helmet...
The liner has probably been taken out at sometime and either it's a replacement or it has been put back badly, as it's hard to get the pins to sit tight if they have been messed with.

Jerry
Whatever
its just an opinion.
