= messed withleather and liner have been placed after the war
messed with even in a inpropper way...the rivets are also not complete and stick out for about 1 cm
like you say, way and way to much...he asks 275 for it but its just to mutch
also to much... I would say 100 / 125 tops... if the chinstrap is a good one, 180 should be a fair price because alu buckle straps are rare and in used condition hard to find, but I have not reason to trust that chinstraps if the rest of the helmet is just bad all the way !gave him an offer of 180 for the helmet
not always a bad sign but its a warning !also the rust is orange
keep on looking...bad luck next time better
I don't know where you are looking for but if you are looking for a nice original helmet, I might be able to help you.
goodluck, good discision not to buy / trade this one !

Marktplaats.nl > Duitse Stahlhelm M35 - Verzamelen - Militaria
here is the link to the sale...
all kinds of straps where used on all kinds of helmets...
In my collection you will only find matching straps because I search then together...
no one can tell that a strap is original to a helmet, but since this one is defenitly messed with it has total nu value.
I took a better look at the strap and I'm almost certain that that strap is bad aswell.
Alu buckle straps ( if matching ) where almost always date marked and not RB because they are late war.
I have a alu rb stamped one but the buckle has the same dimensions as a steel one...
I'm not sure what you have found as a m35 with decals under the paint. could you pass on a link ?
Niels
hi niels
maybe you know the guy
his name is coerd from bergen op zoom
here is the link http://link.marktplaats.nl/238075465
Hi Niels
The first thing that sends alarms bells for me is the fact that it is on an auction. Lids that are honest, don't need an auction to sell. They are sold like this to lure the unsuspecting buyer in, to think that they will get a bargain, But i have to add only one year ago I bought a true Afrika Luftwaffe at a snip, because everybody though that it was fake. It wasn't. it was 100% legit.
So they are still out there, although when looking at the pictures of this one, it screams inconsistency to me. I'm not an expert, but i have to have a good eye, just like you. Coz if we didn't we wouldn't survive 2 minutes
The point that Dimas made about high end items sticking is true. I do have a real KM camo, but its slipped down my pages, and been lost but it ain't cheap
And the link that was just posted refering to another 35. The only real thing about it is the shell
hi john
i get your point whit the auction and all
but i dont have the 1500 to 2300 bucks for an untouched one maybe more
its nice to have sutch ting but not capable for me
