BOB COLEMAN
This helmet did not originate in Holland as it has remnants of the Gau Sachsen skirt decal. Helmets with these decals are mega rare and if a load of decals were found after the war, where are they? Without a doubt, some enterprising faker would have had made up helmets on the market quicker than a jackrabbit in heat. I know of less than ten helmets with these decals and all but two are the gladiator form with the Gau Sachsen Eigentum decal.
Bob I'm guessing you took from my comment that they were uncovered after the war, that I meant a cache of unissued decals were found. I meant that in the case of this green lid the decals on it were literally uncovered from under the green layer through some means or other. The few helmets like this that I have seen all share common traits, I don't think I've seen a convincing bad one yet.

Now I understand your comment. Evidently this helmet had a new life after the war with a green finish and decals covered. that would make sense.
