number inside an helmet, do u know what it is?

Hi all,

I'm not a collector of helmets but I have some that were left in my area during WII, mainly rusty pieces nothing special for sure.. no decals few apint left and without the inside. One of them the one in better condition has a white number written inside a collector told me that is a feldpost and that it responds to a division: 14488D
Do you have any idea? For sure in my area we had the herman goering so probably could be it.

Hi, thanks for the list but the front in my area passed from may till july 1944 so if I understood it right the helmet belongs to none of those units!
Correct?

Hi Massimo, it would have been from Panzer-Abteilung 508. They were in Italy at the correct time.

Hi Masimo, I did forget to mention the "D" suffix after the number. D = 3rd Kompanie.

A - Stab (Battalion), I., II. etc.
B - 1 Kp. (5 in II. Btl., 9 Kp. in III.)
C - 2 Kp. (6 in II. Btl. 10 Kp. for III. and so on)
D - 3 Kp.
E - 4 Kp.

I love these kinds of threads. I imagine a helmet with a camo pattern like that might have seen use with a panzergrenadier of some sort.
