whats ap ??? two years ago i find this helmet wood, swamp in Kurland, (LATVIA) i dont think, that some make fake helmet and hide in swamp. Sory, but you need read more books about helmets, and when you said 99% are fake, maybe realy fake are 60%

Do either decals show a metallic type finish at all?
I have to say that its so suprising that the decal lasted this well if it was found in a swamp!
Maybe if you say what swamp and where, it can be checked to see if SS were ever in that area and give a clue to the originality of the helmet!

Can someone show him why this is fake!? i.e. put up pics of know originals to compare... he feels that people are just saying it with no explaination....
Could it be the decal was Lacquer which is why it lasted so well in water? Do we know that this is a fake decal because of what....? Learning curve for me too!
