Are you Saying that the two piece is realy a one piece.

According to the reference I have, that is what's being said ,it would be interesting for someone to have a close look at one of their 'two piece' glads, internally and check to see if there is a welded join, also to have a separate sub forum on the subject and o have an in depth breakdown with pictures,to me this is an interesting and involved subject which has not had a great deal of clear reference material as the normal helmets we see due to the many variations that were manufactured and the time periods of each, also I'm wondering if a clue rests with the stencilled weights of each helmet in the rear skirt, as any additional pieces should add to the weight of the individual helmets,or , say in the case of a three piece, each piece of metal added was weighed prior to manufacture to produce a uniformed weight of every helmet made
I think eric has a two piece will ask him to post it.

Eric, that one is a 3-piece, i.e. #1 is the dome, #'s 2 + 3 are the front and back aprons. With two piece Luftschutz helmets the apron is one piece, which is welded at the bead along the circumference of the bottom of the dome.
Thanks for the info Jim
