this is a M40 Q64 from Norway, when I received the helmet it was completely rusted . I used a product called Rust Aid based on Oxalic Acid and brought it back from the dead

This a Large M42 size 68 from Kurland ...Relic.

If I'am right, I remember this helmet was sold at the WAF for a good money, I think there was 2 of them?

Hi Guys
I just received this helmet I bought from a gentleman on Ebay, he decided to paint the eagle insignia so he could post the helmet on Ebay!!
Any idea how can I Remove the paint covering the decal??

IMO the decal is overpainted more than a couple of years ago...

Well I bought the Rusted one in WAF , the Police helmet I bought from a construction worker . He told me that his father in law had a Ton of militaria ..he sold it to me for $100..Believe it or not!

IMO the decal is overpainted more than a couple of years ago...

When I bought the Police helmet both decals were covered with thick field gray paint..I removed the paint with a very sharp swiss knife.The paint was hard and brittle and I came of very easy only minor damaged to eagle..The decal has a metallic look underneath ..

that is indeed a very impressive collection im so jealous right know i need to start looking harder for these things maybe i can find for a bargain or end up getting ripped off which ever happens first
