Original Luftwaffe helmet?

Hello everyone, I was wondering if this relic was original? is the paint and decal original?

This one is tricky.... The liner looks too new to me

Yeah it is tricky. I personally thought the helmet itself was fine, but the paint and decal are what I was worried about. The age looks good, but better safe than sorry!

Its not really tricky, its a relic helmet thats been spoilt because the guys added a preservative to the shell and liner and done a bad job of it, without a hands on inspection its debatable as to whether theres original paint and decal under the "preservative"

So the liner and shell are original? And there is no way to tell whether the paint and decal are original, so is it worth the risk? By that I mean, what is it worth if the paint and decal are fake but the shell and liner is real, and what would it be worth if the EVERYTHING was original? Thanks for the help!

With E-bay you pay your money and take your chances, there are better and more certain deals around, its just a case of looking for them from people you can trust, either by personal knowledge or reputation

I think that because it has a decal, it will be a whole lot more than
a 'no-decal' relic lid - This one has about 55 to 60 percent
of the paint left, IMO - It is just a relic.

Don't be taken in unless you are really after a relic - wait for a
better helmet - and while you are waiting, you can save
money and learn more about them at the same time.

Guys, please post photos, not links. Ebay auctions end and the pictures go with them, which renders the entire thread useless.

The helmet looks ok to me but the picture of the decal is terrible.

I like the helmet, it apeals to me. is the paint good, that's what I really care about? And how do you just upload the pictures?
