Original paint DD Luftwaffe M35 w/Double Decals

Hi Gents
Please have a look on this lid,the liner is repro,but I am not sure is the paint original or not.It seems like a DD Luftwaffe M35.The split pins & liner band should be vintage ones.The decals seems period but attached after war.Any thought is appreciated,thanks

BTW The helmet is an M40

No m40 german helmet as far as i know has the double decals applied ,and that imediatley would raise my suspicion that they where fake decal!

Double decal M40's do exist but they are not common.

However, don't forget others such as Police etc.

Hi, i agree with the others that paint and decals are bad, rgds Dave

Some indicators apart from the DD on an m40 and thick laquer over the paint are the artificially aged decals made to appear yellow with time. Also where the decal is chipped the underlying paint is untouched. usually where a decal is chipped or scraped the paint underneath is also affected in some way. my 2 cents anyway.

Thanks for comments.I was told the decals themselvs are from WWII period but they was attached on the lid much later (Maybe recent age).

So at least this M40 lid is original but it's repainted in post war age,right?

Hi Steve, all that is original here is the shell only, as already stated. Don't let anyone try and kid you otherwise.
