That is a very nice helmet. Some guys like the worn, beat up, combat look. This is more to my taste. Helmets found in this condition belonged to soldiers who were billited in Germany and either guarded important buildings or seldom wore a helmet. Of the few pristeen double decal SS helmets I have seen, their provenance all goes back to the LAH barracks by the Berghof.

Dimas is exactly correct. To find one at all especially in that condition is a task to find in itself. Oh i'm repeating what what Dimas said just rewording it

Thanks guys! Yes. .... I really doubt this lid saw any action! I'd love to know the history of the helmet - even what happened to it after the war and where it's been since '45.
I was able to get this much info - from the seller - it belonged to a friend of a friend who got it from his dad. The dad had received it from an "old fellow" (vet?) after having done some yard work for him. Both the older man and the father have passed away. The story ends there and will probably never get past that info. Still - I wish it could talk!

    Cheers!
