I also got this Lufty M42 in the same deal. Has a nice green/brown colouring. Is this bad too?
Strap is a repro and outside heavily reworked....anyones guess on that eagle its so abraded. Lots of fresh rust too. Where are you getting these?....same source?
The rust isn't that bad, looks ok in hand. And yes both came together from a family who's father passed. I knew the chin strap was wrong, but thats how it came.
I take it you don't like it then?
It poses a few questions as to originality. In the end, it must please you. Opinions may run the spectrum but that's the forum for ya. You might want the mods to make this lid another thread as it gums up the one currently going....only a thought.
