Question on un-applied original heer decal
Gentlemen,
Sorry it is not about the helmet but the decal, well I guess it is still helmet related thing.
If there are original un-applied decal from Gust. Peiniger and Huber Jordan a. Koerner, I would guess it's around 60 years old, but can I still apply these decal on the helmet and will stick to helmet ?
Appreciate your feedback.
Cheers,
Minimi

Re: Question on un-applied original heer decal
Don't even dream of doing this. First you will be messing around with an original wartime helmet spoiling it's originality and secondly the decal will more than likely break up.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: Question on un-applied original heer decal
It won't work. For one the decal will stick more to the paper than to the helmet no matter what bonding agent you will use.
As Ade said you will mess up a good original helmet and an original decal.

I agree with Ade
For the second point , there sadly are people who know how to reapply original decals (G.P , HJ&K but also the other makers you can find !!) so be careful when buying a helmet

Re: Question on un-applied original heer decal
Peininger decal is IMO was used for the parade helmets, and the decals lost it's plasticity, you will break it being apply

Re: Question on un-applied original heer decal
Thank you gentlemen !
Well I guess, buying original decal is just for collecting it for fun, not to destroy it by applying it to the original helmet.
