Default Quist - M1940 Heer Helmet

    Hi guys,

It's been a while since I posted a helmet on here, so I thought I'd show my most recent (and one of my favourite) helmets..

This one is an M1940 Wehrmacht helmet, manufactured by Quist. This one has an atypical chinstrap of Czechoslovakian manufacture. These straps are often encountered on German helmets, as the army seized large amounts of them upon occupation. Often German soldiers found these straps to be more comfortable, and discarded their standard issue straps. The liner-band is dated 1941.

Here are some shots, I hope you like it!

    Very nice lid.........

I assume the strap is split to act as a chincup?
    Regards,

    Steve.

A very nice Quist M40 with a slightly less common shell/decal combination, in Quist's attractive shade of feldgrau and a hard to find chinstrap. Thanks for posting!

Thanks mate, yes these ET style decals were used by Quist early in the war and throughout until the wars end, along with the lovely 'BF' style..

    Thanks for the compliment!

Very nice lid, nicely worn but not to over the top and a great decal to go with it. Nice pickup
