Is this Quist stamping correct?

Article about: Hi Chaps. Was wondering if these stampings are correct for an M40 Q64. I thought the Q64 should be on the inner side of the rim, where as these are to the rear of the rim with the serial num

    Hi Chaps.
    Was wondering if these stampings are correct for an M40 Q64. I thought the Q64 should be on the inner side of the rim, where as these are to the rear of the rim with the serial number. Is this correct?

    That's fine for a late war helmet. Quist continued production of the M40 until the end of the war. That isn't to say they never made the M42, but never fully transferred production, and only began limited production in late 1944 or so.
