Quite possibly the mintiest helmet I have ever seen

Article about: Wow. So the lug is there to hold ceremonial oak leaves? If this helmet was just for special events, then maybe that explains why it is in such stellar condition.

    It's way too clean, i don't like the look of the dome stamp or the chinstrap not the markings but the way its never been fitted properly? I think the liner rivets look a bit too dome shaped aswell, i know if i posted it up here i'd be told it was a load of crap and it was %100 fake...but what would i know.....

    i dont know helmets either and but it doesnt look right at all. Must be a melbourne thing.

    Well k admit i thought it was too new but after having another look i think it's just an amazing find something that old I'n that good of condition ! Some one will be very luky too have this !

    That lug looks like a mount for a brow plate (stirnpanzer?). I thought they did away with these after WWI.

    Entirely agree with Chris, this is the only one I have ever seen, described exactly as above. This is for sale on Bill Shea's site. Not the similarity, uncanny.
