Ratty M42 and liner - Norskie?

Article about: I have seen this for sale, but am thinking it is a Norwegian re-issue that had the paint stripped to get rid of the decals - sadly stripping most of the paint underneath too. Liner looks red

    Eek! I'd say that you are right. Someone tried to re-convert a Norwegian helmet back into what they hoped would pass for an original German issue. Unfortunately, such was, apparently, not possible...

    Brass liner rivets = Norwegian
    Aluminum = German
