    That's a 1000% original Austrian M17. The canvas straps are difficult to find.

    Just in case anyone cares, here is a photo of the name that is written in pencil on the inside. One photo is how the camera pictured it, and one is where I tried to darken it in photoshop. I still can't make it out, but then again, I'm not an expert in Austrian names... Maybe someone else has a guess??

    Very great discovery! The straps are very hard to find as said and seem to be in fine shape. You Otta get a pretty penny for this item found in the garbage. I can't understand why anyone would throw such a thing away. Why woul they not try to give it to someone who may be interested?

    Great Austrian m-17 18 helmet as stated straps are rare as hens teeth great find. Good chance came home with doughboy or other nation fighting Germans or Austrians. Great find timothy
