Oei, that does not look to promising, it is offered by a dealer, and I bought over the last 2 years a lot of authentic medals and other and kind of stuff and I respect him for his expertise, but always leave the backdoor open, his commends for the helmet where:
Sometimes If some weaker helmet series of the wehrmacht and ss where discovered they where adapted with the border and passed on to non combat units like luftschutz, SA or used as labor helmets for fabrics
    Could This be?

Beaded helmets usually used as he says, but this is not an SA helmet. The paint is bad, liner, and decal as well.

Hi, the guys have nailed this one, a fake and artificially worn SA decal( it may even be painted on!) Also as Doug says, that liner looks brand new compared to the "wear" on the shell as does the chinstrap. All in all a very poor attempt to fake an SA lid, sorry. Leon.

Hello, thanks for youre replys and knowledge, think this is very interesting as all you have the same opinión and seller replieds that on pictures he also had serious doubts but in real he is convinced and guarantees its the real deal, for the decall it is indeed handpainted but this was something not unusual in the beginning, this is easy to say of course but he never had sold me any doubtfull ítems and offers to include te helmet for a about a third of the Price in a next shipment guaranteeing that I will also be convinced once arrived, so here I go, cannot say that I wasn´t told,
I am unknown to this fórum but if you are interested and allow me will start a treat again once arrived with my own pictures and every angle requested.
    Thanks for now.

    Robert,

Will let the experts here chastise me if I mistate what I think is the obvious flaw in the dealers tall tale.....if the dealer is quoting this as a real "early" varient, why is it an M40 helmet (e.g. it's NOT an early helmet). He's yanking your chain IMHO or doesn't know his stuff.

    Regards,

    Michael

If you like it, buy it. Nothing else said here seems to make a difference, so enjoy.
