I also recommend to "keep it" I still remember my first helmets or other nice militaria items that I sold or traded with the same idea to get a nicer one, I really wished I would have kept it now

I noticed young collectors always have a need to change their mind or want something else in a short time period, but when they get older and more experienced they learn how valuable and hard to find these items can get, just think how much trouble it would be to replace a nice original?

If I were you, I would keep it. Like Danmark said, your first helmet is always special and something you won't forget.

+1, I don't think I'll ever willingly part with my first lid.
Your's is nicer, don't be in a rush to part with it IMO.
