Looks like it is LW blue M40 with a Heer decal, bad paint and an ill fitting fake wire job from these far away pics.

The consensus is much the same on GHW. That brand new chinstrap completes the look!

A badly rusted shell that was repainted and fitted with liner and wire. More pathettic junk to peddle on the feeble.

This one nearly caught me out for some bizarre reason. I never had any intention of bidding on it, but I was 90% sure this may have been a good one.Although the wire was a red flag! As I have said on another forum, you think you are getting somewhere with learning about these damn lids and something silly like this catches you out. I guess you never stop learning. I wish I lived somewhere where I could get some hands on experience without spending money

    Experience takes time.........

On closer, rational inspection of this helmet, the things that are wrong with it
stand out right away. Most people tend to get anxious and excited easily
over things that interest them alot, I know I do, and this is how we
    sometimes get sucked in.

We are also looking for that elusive 'diamond in the rough' - hoping to make
a great and spectacular find one day, and we sometimes get too impatient.
It is then when we are caught off guard and make bad decisions.

    The search continues.......................!

On the other hand, This will make a 'nice' but expensive display
or re-enactor lid for someone who may or may not even
    know the difference.......... Ouch !
    Regards,

    Steve.
