Default SOS M35 Thick Over Painted Luft

I know I'm a bit late to be posting a helmet from the SOS, but then again, better late than never.

Here is a helmet I was very happy to obtain this year from the Show of Shows, some of you might have seen it before. But for those who haven't, here it is.
It is an M35 double decal Luftwaffe with a thick chunky overpaint. The Eagle was painted around while the tri color was painted over. The liner band is dated 1938. On the chinstrap, there is some kind of split pin. I was informed it might be from an MP38/40 sling. I am not sure but it is definitely period done. There are no markings on the chinstrap that I can see. The maker is SE64 and the lot number is 3977.

That's a cool woodchip camo to me, not a mere overpaint Great lid, I'd own it for sure.

Hey Sarge welcome over from GHW by the way. I barely noticed you were new here as I see your avatar over there so much. Glad to have you here too

A hell of a pick up. Very nice! I also like the thick textured paint job. Good find! And, yes-Welcome to the Forum! We look forward to seeing more of your collections!
