DougB thank you for all of your good advice.
I really do appreciate it.
I try to do my part in helping others on the US M1 Helmet section of this forum (where I have a much better basis of knowledge).

Personally I thought the price they were asking was high.
It was named to a soldier but for the condition I got a DD Luft in better shape for $450.00.
Anyway it doesnt matter now since, like I said, it was sold out from under me.
I am kind of suspicious of the seller.
They were trying to pressure me to make an offer.
Something fishy so I am kind of glad I did not get it.
Anyway, thanks to all of you for helping me.
Comments like "I paint test all my helmets" and "I like my helmets beat up and worn" insinuates you go through helmets like some people change socks. In other words, you handle and own a lot of helmets. Yet in two threads now you say you own only 3 or 4 helmets and on GHW before you were banned you said you dont even collect WW2 helmets.
I am not trying to be antagonistic but I find that your expert advice possibly less than expert based on your own contradictory and inflated words.
I suppose that is the problem with forums, anyone can be an expert, and sadly they are believed. Oh well.....it ain't my money.....
