Hi Chris, One of the ones in this thread doesn't have a stripe, and the one pictured in the Baer book doesn't have one either. In fact, I think that most of the examples with the gold leaf decal do not have the stripe, as I seem to recall that the stripe was added during the war years. Cheers, Jim G.
