A lucky find at a thrift shop a few years ago is this ultra rare M35/40 helmet intended for the Dutch legion. It has the original decals (no round bottom fakes here!) and the colour is original; this combined with the material of the helmet itself makes me think it was made for the planned Red Square Victory Parade in 1941 that was cancelled at the last moment although I can't rule out this is the secret experimental light-weight ballistic material known as 'K.ef.Luhr'. It never had a liner installed.
Oh and today's date has absolutely nothing to do with this great collectible
