Pure pencil handmade painting.
A good picture of the eagle can really help.
Style looks like a kid one, but i think an unskilled adult do it.
Looks like a father who do it for his kid, learn him who 's the big evil german nazi.
But, pure speculation, i want to say whatever, it' s a very nice one, if the price is cool. the kind of helmet i want to have in my collection, because we can speak about it.

Here is a M18 cutout with a funky eagle add to the front. When I post it DougB said it was most likely a volkssturm addition. He said he had seen a couple of FJ helmets with eagles added to the front.

I was told i could hold on to the helmet to get more info and opinions. The guy is easy going and said if I was not happy just send it back, no worry's or hard feelings. The color is a concern but I did find another helmet from a post here on this forum showing a silver helmet. I did know silver was used, if it is still a post war I still learned something new?

Thank you everyone for all the advice and opinions. The helmet is going back next week. I would keep if the price was lower,just to have it, but it is not worth it at the asking price for it not being a period piece. Again thanks everyone.

I believe the silver helmets were worn by fire chiefs so they stood out at a fire.

This helmet is 100% TR period, a Police Chief/Leader helmet. The first time I saw a silver one I had some skepticism, and passed on it, only to learn that it was REAL. These are fairly rare and very desirable. Jim G.

Just for clarity. Do you mean the helmet that started the thread or the one in post 25?

I know I'm late to the game here everyone, but it think the first helmet is good. No expert reason other than my gut.
