Where are some good reference sites/books?
Hello, I am looking for some sites which have confirmed authentic examples I can learn from. I'd like to expand my knowledge of helmets and I want to be certain that I am looking at the real things. I tried using the search function on this forum with little luck.

Right here...yes there are dealers, but they all sell authentic items. Two of the even wrote the book (literally) on german and SS helmets.

Uhhh. No disrespect but I assume you meant that you had little luck searching for reliable sites and not helmets, because I don't think you will find a better database of helmets and advice then here(or over at GHW).

Join German Helmet Walhalla, site has many databases you can access once you reach veteran status and has thousands of real examples of virtually all kinds of German helmets posted and all are good quality photos and close-ups.
Many good examples posted here as well but they are interspersed with too many "is it real" threads so searching them out is difficult.
If if you want to authenticate your helmets simply post them up here and at GHW. Learned collectors will let you know.
