This is role reversal if I have ever seen it. A real helmet someone is convinced is fake. Good one!
Without wanting to sound rude either... you may want to do some more research before you judge an item of militaria, it is a literal minefield out there. I would not call someone ''stupid'' for buying a fake helmet (if anything they would get my sympathy), we all make mistakes, i can't count how many times i have bought a fake before getting the real thing.

I don't understand this thread whatsoever.
Postage stamp sized photos of what appears to be a real helmet with a real liner with a probable fake chinstrap.
OP asks who is stupid enough to buy it.
OP says it is fake.
A thread perfect for deleting or at least closing.
What a strange thread...
Del,
I know that you are new to this forum and some members here have been quite kind to you offering advice and even items to add to you new collection.
It is best to look, listen, research and learn. We all start somewhere, I know I did when I joined this forum less than a year ago.
I offer this advice as i know it helped me. My knowledge has grown 100 fold despite many years of collecting on my own...
Regards
Michael

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Just to end this thread we don't encourage threads that trawl through the myriad of garbage that makes up most of what is sold on E Bay and then get posted here to take up bandwidth and bump up posts , in fact as most of you know we actively discourage such threads , so quite rightly it has been closed !!
