I just bought this helmet and believe the white paint to post war. I noticed the outline of a luftwaffe adler under the paint. I would like to know if this looks like a recent paint job and whether I should attempt to remove it. thanks.

looks like it, but im not sure theres even an eagle under there, why the raised areas, besides it looks like a black helmet which could be post war

Paint job looks like it was done about a week ago after someone had finished decorating the house !!

At least if the shell is original,it would be a good restoration job......it's been mucked with seriously post war

Yikes. Looks like it could have been a post war fireman helmet with the black interior.

Actually it was fairly cheap <$100. It is a Q66, but the lot # begins with a T. I think this helmet would be a good paint stripping project.by Walkwolf
