why rust is under the white helmets?, it worries me.
it means that she is painted on top of rusty helmets

white wash was water based so you would expect a rusty patina no? ,to be honest i would walk away and save your money the red flag for me is the liner pin area is painted up to the hole this should show a ring of original paint where field applied over a complete helmet

ok i understand what u mean with the ring of colour near the pin of the liner well spotted !
the paint was applied in the field not in factory so the zone where the pins are should be unpainted !
and rust under the paint may happens because the camo is sometimes made of water paint.
thank you
one more thing
as the water paint is liquid and the rivet not hermetical ,paint can go uner the pin. no?

Hello again,
this time i would like to have your opinion about this winter camo helmet!
i don't have many pictures, so i know it can be a little difficult to give a good opinion...
but i know some people here have x-ray eyes so it can maybe be enough
here we go !
thank you
best regards

I agree with the fellas above --- ground dug helmet shell with white paint added post-war. The white ones are a minefield... if you're looking for a good winter camo relic I suggest you hook up with some of the known diggers and acquire directly, more or less what I did.

A quick shot of my Kurland dug m35 DD relic in almost fully intact white winter paint for reference -- unfortunately no liner pins, but still nicely representative of this type.

nice one i'll manage to ask ground diggers if i meet one soon or later
thank you for the photo
