Re: WW2 Nazi Police helmet, fake decals?
Frankly, from what I see I think the decals are real, probably an SE shell. Having said that, for me the condition is such that even if real, I would pass on it, save my money, and put it towards a better helmet. Just out of curiosity, what are the maker/size and lot number stamps? Jim G.

Re: WW2 Nazi Police helmet, fake decals?
unfortunately these pictures are from an auction I will attend, but I will try to get some of my own prior to the auction, and post them up here. I may pass this one, it is past $65, and the bidding starts in 4 days.

Also looks to have sanding marks to me I could be wrong though.

G'day Eric, Merry Xmas, you may be right in your observation but if you look at the 2nd pic that "sanding" appears to go right around the dome and the way the decals are worn and the lack of paint on the rivets it could well be a mark worn by a carry strap? Just a thought

Hi Phill I have never seen leather make those kind of marks ever it would be polished IMO.
