ww2 Vulkanfiber helmets info

Does this look like a ww2 Vulkanfiber helmet.
I think post war but not sure,not one I have seen before.
If you have any info on the vulkanfiber helmets that would be great
If you have pictures of original ones please post them.

Hi Chris, My only fibre helmet is a prototype style, a double decal Heer with the slots on the apron. Baer has a short section about this shell type, which was field tested and rejected. There is a lengthy discussion about fibre helmets on GHW. Jim G.

Jim being this is a DD is it safe to assume it was constructed and tested pre 1940 .

Pre 1935. I will pull out the Baer book tomorrow and make sure that I post correct information about the testing of this style fibre helmet. Jim G.

Thanks Jim it is a very intresting helmet I was not expecting the early pre 1935 date . I must admit it is the first fiber helmet I have seen and it caught my attention right away .
