The helmet as a whole is bad. No M40's with a bend or straightleg eagle ever existed , all M40's LW have textured paint.
Condition should not be a factor when determing authentification. Plenty of unused or lightly used helmets survived the war , being helmets from depots or high ranking officers that never used them or from soldiers that were captured on day 1 etc....
